General Membership Meeting and February Newsletter

The annual General Meeting of the Membership for the club will be Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 7 pm in the library of Greenbriar East Elementary School. All pool members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Members are invited to run for open pool board positions, elect new board members, accept or reject proposed club bylaws amendments, and/or join in the discussions.

There are three open positions available on the pool board. If you would like to run for one of the open positions, please submit a short bio to the pool email address (pool@greenbriar.org) so that you can be added to the ballot. Members are permitted to run from the floor at the meeting as well.

We value your input and participation! Whether you choose to run for a board position or not, your input and participation are important to the continued success of the pool!

The February Newsletter is also out! It includes important information about your membership and the club, including information about bylaws amendments that will be up for approval at the General Meeting. 

Closing Weekend Food and Toiletries Drive

Enjoy Closing Weekend at the pool *and* help families in our community!

The Greenbriar Pool club will be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to local families through the Western Fairfax Christian Ministries Food Pantry.  If you'd like to help, bring your donation items when you head to the pool during this Labor Day Weekend (Aug 29-Sep 1).  We'll have a box at the check-in desk.

Opening Weekend we collected 132 pounds of food and 4th of July Weekend we collected 31 pounds of food.  Let's see if we can collect 150 pounds of food Closing Weekend!

Items currently needed are:

Food and Beverages

  • Canned Fruit
  • Dry Beans
  • Canned White Beans (Garbanzo, Cannellini, Northern)
  • Oil
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Peanut Butter
  • Granola Bars
  • Dry Pasta
  • Canned Vegetables (extremely low supply)
  • Canned Tomatoes (all types)

Toiletries

  • Toilet Paper
  • Deodorant
  • Shampoo
  • Diapers size 4 and 5
  • Toothpaste

4th of July Holiday Food and Toiletries Drive

Enjoy the July 4th Holiday at the pool *and* help needy families in the community!
 
The Greenbriar Pool Club will be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to local families through the Western Fairfax Christian Ministries Food Pantry.   If you’d like to help, bring your donation items when you head to the pool during this July 4th Holiday Weekend (July 4th-6th). We’ll have a box at the check-in desk.

· White or Brown Rice—1 or 2 lb bags
· Cold Cereal
· Canned Meat
· Pancake Mix
· Oil
· Powdered or Evaporated Milk
· Flour
· Fruit Juice

(NOTE: Toiletry items cannot be purchased by our clients with their food stamps)
· Shampoo
· Diapers
· Toilet paper
· Baby wipes
