RECIPROCITY AGREEMENT RENEWED WITH BROOKFIELD.
The agreement with Brookfield is renewed and in place. On days when a home swim meet closes the entire pool, members can go to the other pool. Our next home swim meet is on July 10.

Just a reminder that NO GUESTS are permitted at the pool this weekend, to ensure that members get a chance to enjoy it.
With the pool opening this weekend, The Board wants to give you what we hope will be the final update on how we’ll operate.
Operating hours for opening weekend:
Saturday – 9AM-10PM
Sunday – 11AM-9PM
Monday – 11AM-8PM
Please see the pool website (https://greenbriar.org/pool-hours) for our hours the rest of the season.
Scheduling Blocks and Reservations: The weather is unfortunately not cooperating, with temps in the 60s and rain likely on Saturday, and the temps staying cool all weekend. Because of this, we aren’t anticipating high usage of the pool. Thus, we will NOT use the scheduling blocks of time and optional reservation system for the first two weekends as we’d previously announced. It will be first-come-first-served until capacity has been reached, the same as it has been in previous years. We will consider implementing the scheduling blocks and optional reservations later this season if we anticipate high usage (such as the fourth of July or Labor Day weekends). Members are encouraged to look at the pool website (https://greenbriar.org/today-the-pool) and click on the “Current Status” button so see how full the pool may be.
Mask Guidance: The board expects our members to use good judgement in protecting themselves and others, particularly as many of our children are not yet eligible to be vaccinated. A recent article on fighting COVID-19 made the point that two of three things are needed to reduce the spread of the virus. The three things are being outdoors, wearing a mask, or maintaining distance. While the pool staff is not going to behave as the “mask police”, the Board wants to apply that “two out of three” logic and provide the following guidance to our unvaccinated members (including children):
If you’re not vaccinated, when you’re out on the pool deck you should put on a mask or keep distance from others.
If you’re not vaccinated, you should put on a mask and maintain distance when you’re inside, like in the pool restrooms.
If you’re not vaccinated, try to maintain distance from others while in the water.
The Board asks everybody, regardless of their vaccination status, to be respectful of others, and to respect any requests for distance. That’s actually a pool rule this season.
Guests: No guests will be permitted on opening weekend (May 29-31)
Playground Area/Volleyball Court: Our opening work made it clear to the Board that the “Sand Pit” area needs to be refurbished (have all the vegetation removed and fresh sand laid down). Because of that, while the grassy areas and tables in that section are open, we’ll ask everyone to stay out of the “sand pit” until we get it refurbished.
Final reminder to be ready for opening: Please be sure that your account in Member Splash is current – with all your fees paid, your family members entered, their photos added and the waiver signed by adult members (if you don't see the button by your name, you already did it). You can access your account here: https://greenbriar.org/member-login. If you have any issues with the system, please contact our Pool Admin by sending an email to pool@greenbriar.org or by calling (703) 378-4421. Please note that you will not be able to add family members or upload pictures after Friday May 28, 2021.
Warm Regards,
The Greenbriar Pool Club Board of Directors
