Pool Hours This Week

Weekdays (M-F)* 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM
*Monday, July 10th- Pool closes at 4pm.
Saturday 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Sunday 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM

Hourly Break Reminder

We've had a number of complaints about Pool break rules being broken this past week, to include 10-18 year olds entering the Pool during Break (which is not allowed; for a child to enter the water on break with parents, only children 10 years and under are allowed, and only two children per membership at the same time). We've asked the NV Pools staff to step up enforcement in this regard. The Pool rules are below on this topic.

1. The pool will be closed for the last (15) minutes of every hour for adult/family swim. Swimmers must be 18 years or older, except as noted below.
2. Parents and guardians may bring up to two children under 10 years old into the pool during this time. They must remain in the wings of the pool and not interfere with adult activity and relaxation. U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation devices and kick boards are the only permitted 'accessories' for these activities.

Pool Closings During Bad Weather

When the guards hear thunder or see lightning, they are required to close the pool for at least 30 minutes after the last event. This applies to the basketball and pickleball courts, as well as the playground and snack bar. Everyone must exit the area, and you may stay in your cars in the main parking lot.

Lap Lane Information

Did you know.....Our normal hours for a lap lane are between 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, and between 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Please ask a guard to set up a lap lane during this time. A lap lane is NOT available during swim/dive meets or during swim/dive practices, nor on holidays.

Side Lot Update

While the recent rain was good for our lawns, it prevented the second coat of paint on the new pickleball court. Painting SHOULD resume next week if the weather permits.

Follow-up re: Member Behavior & Pool Rule Violations

We heard from many pool members in response to our e-mail last week, sharing their feelings of frustration at the issues of rule breaking and poor behavior. Many members recommended the Board and NVPools staff take a firmer stance regarding blatant misbehavior and destruction of pool property. As a result, at the Board's June meeting, the Board reviewed the recent issues revolving around destruction of pool property, misbehavior in the playgrounds and bathrooms, and disrespectful comments from adults directed at NVPools staff. We want to remind the members that they are responsible for the behavior of their children and guests, and that we have a zero-tolerance policy for actions that threaten member safety (such as throwing sand at each other in the playground) or damage pool property (using the shower curtains to flood the bathroom). We have asked NVPools staff to implement a zero-tolerance policy for destruction of pool property, misbehavior (involving blatant rule breaking), and disrespect to staff. NVPools staff will be writing up incident reports that are delivered to the Board for any such incidents and the staff and the Board will take appropriate action to include short-term benching, 1-day pool bans, extended pool bans, or revocation of membership should the situation warrant that (in the event of repeat offenders).
