Annual Meeting
First, let us apologize for this late message... between the snow and illnesses among the Board, we just couldn't get it out any sooner.
There WILL be our annual membership meeting on Wednesday, February 18th, at the Greenbriar East Elementary School, in the Cafeteria. The meeting will start at 7:30 PM.
We will cover two major topics at the meeting:
First , our annual financial review. All members will have received an email with a link to the financial report, reviewing our 2025 actual income/expenses versus projected, and our 2026 projected expenses. If you haven’t received the email with this notice, send a message to tim@greenbriar.org and I’ll respond with the link. While Treasurer Mark will go over this at the meeting, his comments are included in the report for members unable to attend. The link will expire on February 21st. The 2026 maintenance fee of $600.00 will be due by April 15th using Member Splash, and you'll be able to go online and pay your fees beginning on March 1st.
The second item of business will be to elect new members to the Board. The Board normally has nine member, with a three-year, term, and each year three terms expire. This year we have five seats to vote on - three of them are expiring, and two are vacancies created by 2025 resignations of Board members. Thus, we have three positions that will expire in February 2029, one position that will expire in February 2027, and one position that will expire in February 2028.
The Election will take place in two parts:
1. Doug Williams - Doug was appointed in 2025 to fill the vacancy expiring in February 2028 and is interested in continuing his service on the Board and to the Club. In accordance with our bylaws, this is a separate yes/no vote from the membership. If the vote is yes, Doug will continue to fill the seat until February 2028.
2. The remaining four seats (three, 3-year terms and one, 1-year term) will be contested by:
Chance Putzke - A current board member, Chance has been a significant driver for many of the changes in our physical plant over the years, including our pool sound, playground sets, security cameras, and fencing repairs. He is known for his sense of humor, his 'can-do' attitude, and the practical approach he brings to board issues.
Cameron "Cam" Buchanan - I'm a father of two boys, a full-time strength coach, and an active member of our school community. My family has been members of the pool club for four years, and my boys are proud and enthusiastic members of the swim team. Staying involved in the neighborhood is important to me, and I'm interested in joining the pool board to help support a space where families can connect and kids can thrive. My work as a coach has taught me the value of consistency, teamwork, and creating positive environments - qualities I'm excited to bring to the board as we continue to build a strong, welcoming community.
Christina Fox - I'm a mom of two boys who have grown up loving this pool and are both active members of the swim team. Over the years our family has built strong connections here, and I've seen firsthand how important this space is for kids, families, and the broader community. I'm running for the pool board because I care deeply about maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-organized environment where families can relax, participate, and feel at home. I value communication, collaboration, and thoughtful decision-making, and I'd be honored to help support the continued growth and success of our pool community.
At the meeting, I will place a call to the floor to see if there are any other members who wish to run for a seat as a write-in slot. Then, assuming we have more candidates than vacancies, members shall cast their ballots and we will have a tally. Once the tally is complete, the candidates shall be called in descending order of votes won to state if they'd like to fill the seat expiring in 2027, or a seat expiring in 2029. This will continue until all Board seats are filled or until all available candidates are filling a seat.
If we have more vacancies than candidates, I will ask the membership if they will approve filling the board with the candidates rather than casting a ballot. If need be, the candidate to receive the slot expiring in 2027 will be chosen by lot (and of course, they may run again in 2027).
Please note that it is too late to raise a topic at the annual meeting, as no RSVP's were received. However, we do hope to see our members there. Please reach out to Lauren with any questions. She can be reached at pool@greenbriar.org.
