Closing Weekend Food Drive

Enjoy the Labor Day Weekend at the pool, help families in the community and defend the honor of Greenbriar!  Greenbriar donated 130 lbs of food for the July 4th food drive and we beat Brookfield Swim Club!

The Greenbriar Pool Club will be having a friendly competition with Brookfield Swim Club to see which Club can collect the most food.  The winner will be determined by the weight of the food collected. The food will be weighed by WFCM.

We will be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to local families through the Western Fairfax Christian Ministries Food Pantry (http://www.wfcmva.org/current-needs). If you’d like to help, bring your donation items when you head to the pool during this Labor Day Weekend (Sep 4-7). We’ll have a box at the check-in desk.

Items needed are:

Sugar, Flour, Oil, Canned Fruits, Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo, Toothpaste, Diapers – size 5 and 6

Swim Meet, Good Works

Patsy Graham Splashabout

A meet held in honor of Patsy Graham, a former Greenbriar swimmer and coach (her name is still on the record board) who died at the age of 21. Meet profits fund a scholarship in Patsy’s name at JMU. The Splashabout is a relay carnival that includes many traditional relay events as well as some more unique events.

Good Works, Volunteers Needed!

Volunteer Clean-up Day!

Earn a “golden ticket” to a private swim event the day before the pool officially opens, by volunteering for a few hours to help get the pool ready for opening weekend! Volunteer Clean Up Day is Saturday, May 2nd from 10:00 a.m. until we finish (rain date Saturday, May 9th). Anyone old enough to push a broom, wipe down a cushion, or rake sand is welcome to participate. All volunteers receive a golden ticket for our Golden Ticket Swim Party Friday, May 22nd from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Be the first in the pool this season, earn your golden ticket!
